Really excellent - recommended December 13, 2008 K. Hatfield (Houston, TX, USA) We've had this for about six months and we love it. We use it a lot - mainly for smoothies and blended fruit drinks, but we've also made iced coffee, which involves crushing ice, and I frequently blend pancake batter to make it smoother. We also have some of the accessories and have used them to make milkshakes, crush nuts and do some basic food processing. We have had NO problems with this item during its frequent use; it works well, cleans up very easily, and looks fabulous on the benchtop! We stored it away for a while but I missed it being out so now it's out permanently and is a great addition to the kitchen. Highly recommended!
Back to basics August 3, 2008 M. Callis (va) After years of having an Oster blender, I decided to buy a Cuisenart(sp), well after only 2 years, and many problems even putting the jar onto the bottom, the PLASTIC gears stripped, and left blender do all over the counter! Needless to say that was it with my making a pie that day with that blender. So I decided to research my next purchase. And I did, very well. The Oster blenders kept coming up as best to buy on numerous sites. And the Osterizer 4126 was rated among the top. Ok it's red, and that was a draw, but the power, and lack of buttons, just two speeds and that's enough. I love it, whips up cream cheese, condensed milk pies in a jif. Great milkshakes! Wonderful for making homemade salsa, not one complaint yet, except, why did I buy the other blender? I'm back to basics now, and will not buy any thing else but Oster, and the attachments you can get, I even have my old Oster ice crusher attachment, and it fits.
The Perfect Blender (for me, at least) January 29, 2008 Mashmal (Portland, Oregon) So to qualify, I'm not some kind of gourmand. I don't know what frape means, and that's probably why this blender appealed to me. On/Off/Pulse. That's it. I used to have a blender with 12 speeds, and I'd just run through them all for amusement. Now, though, I have something that looks cool, and if I don't need to blend anything up that much I just pulse it a little. Added bonus is that this looks super-cool. The only caveat is that the silver parts are all plastic. They're a tough plastic, good enough that I carry the motor around by the top silver ring (very handy), but still a little disappointing, especially given the price. Oh, and I got mine for $[...] at costco with the blend-n-go cup. So you might look around a little.
A Blender that really blends! January 16, 2007 E. Ward 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found this blender listed in Good Housekeeper's archive for the best blenders. I have to say I completely agree with the rave. It does an awesome job with blending everything together without chunks. Also, the presentation of the blender is very classy as well!
Best blender for a guy February 15, 2005 James Lee (Denver, CO USA) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I've had this blender in black for 3 years with no problems. And for a guy, I like the functionality. Speed settings are slow... or fast. Nothing like, puree, frappe, stir, mix. Just slow... or fast. Pretty simple. I've crushed frozen fruits. Blade still looks good. But I just chipped the glass jar at the bottom. Now it won't seal. That surprised me. Maybe the glass isn't as tough as it feels. But still a great blender. Except I bought mine...in the store, on sale.
