Waste of Money July 20, 2008 Elizabeth Parsons I received this product as a wedding gift. I tried it out, and the blade broke the first time I tried it. It had a "one year warranty" so I called the company and they refused to accept it. So if I wanted a new piece to replace my also new piece that broke the first try, I would have to send them 8.95 plus shipping and handeling. After arguing on the phone for almost a half hour with what they consider customer service, they told me to call back tomorrow. Do not waste your money on this, it is cheap and broke the first time. The company is useless and will just try to sell you new broken products.
Seems adequate. July 19, 2008 Michael E Menietti (pittsburgh, PA) Seems fine. Appears to have superior build quality to the knock offs. The "gear"/"teeth" that drive the blade are a hard plastic, instead of rubber. That will probably not disintegrate like the knock off did.
More Trouble Than It's Worth July 17, 2008 Paula Irwin (Redmond, WA United States) I was so excited about the Magic Bullet because it is small and seemed to do everything. I bought it particularly to make vegetable purees (ie baby food). I also loved the idea of making smoothies right in the cups; how fun! However, when I used it I was very disappointed (and ended up returning it). For pureeing vegetables I followed the manual exactly, adding extra water, using the shake method, using the tap method and the food came out very smooth, but it took about 20 minutes for one tall cup of veggies (we're talking squash here, not carrots or something more firm) and my arm was tired from all that shaking and tapping. It was also very messy and I ended up with squash all over the outside of the cup, the motor base and my kitchen. For smoothies, all went well except that there were 3 chunks of ice that never would be crushed, no matter how long I blended it. My overall thought on this product is that it is more trouble than it's worth and highly overrated by the manufacturer. I was so sad that it didn't work as expected because if it had I'm sure it would be my favorite kitchen appliance ever, but unfortunately, it just didn't prove itself worth all the money. If it was as easy and simple and quick as they said it was I would have kept it, but as it is, I am now in the market for a real food processor.
Good when it is not broken, July 13, 2008 R. Chakravorty (Newark, ca United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The pastic "thing" that is on top of the main motor. This is the part that actually drives the blender "thingy" broke after a while. So the whole thing is pretty much useless. There is no replacement for it. So now I don't know what to do with all that plastic cup and containers that came with it..if the motor base itself does not work.
Awesome little blender July 12, 2008 Janet Shaw (Ridgecrest, California United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am currently on my second bullet blender and I still absolutely love it. I bought from the website when my first one finally gave out from a lot of use and I got their two for one deal so in a sense, I got two complete systems with the blender and juicer attachments for the price of one. I still have the extra one for when my current one wears out. They do try to push a lot of extra stuff on you when you order over the phone which is annoying but you can always say no and you will still be able to get the two-for-one deal using the infomercial number. I have bought a lot of things off infomercials and they all try to get more out of you so I guess it is just the way they all are. That being said, I will buy this again whenever my extra one wears out and I also bought a 2-for-1 set and gave them as gifts to family. My kids can make their own smoothies and drinks and I don't have a big mess to clean up and I don't have to drop whatever I am doing to pull out the big blender whenever they want a smoothie. It is also healthier and cheaper to buy frozen fruit in bulk and make your own smoothies at home. They taste much better too. My favorite smoothie is 3/4 to 1Cup of nonfat plain yogurt, stuff in as many frozen strawberries as you can, add 4 or more packets of splends depending on how sweet you like it, and some sugar-free orange drink(I like the Orange Great Value drink mix from Wal-Mart-it's like the Crystal Light orange sunrise drink mix but tastes more like tang, yumm). When I need to clean up I just toss the cups and blender blades in the dishwasher(top rack). I also grid coffee beans in it and it works great for that. I blend up eggs for scrambled eggs, omelets or frittatas and it is much better than doing it by hand with a wisk because the scrambled eggs really fluff up. I use it to puree some of my soups to help thicken the broth, mix instant pudding quickly, make homemade salsa(one pulse blends everything up great). . . I can't imagine not having one in my kitchen. I really recommend this product. This is the first product I have ever purchased from an infomercial that actually does what it says.
