Recommended for rooms up to 200 square feet, this portable air purifier is equipped with a UV germicidal light to help kill airborne microorganisms and a three-speed fan to continuously circulate air through two filters that remove smoke, pollen, dust, animal dander, dust mites, molds, bacteria, viruses, and odors. Helpful for asthmatics, allergy sufferers, and in a cold or flu patient's room, the purifier contains a true HEPA filter that is at least 99.97 percent effective at trapping airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. There's also a carbon prefilter to reduce odors. A digital readout displays air quality--good, fair, or poor--and the fan can be set to automatically adjust speed according to air-quality needs. One speed setting is called "whisper" for bedrooms and nurseries. Digital indicators show when filters need replacing. Filter replacement is simple: open the front, remove the prefilter and/or HEPA filter, position a new filter(s), and reclose the front. The purifier carries a three-year warranty against defects. I bought this air purifier in 2003 and have ran it 24 hours a day and never had a problem! I have horrible allergies and coincidental adopted a Persian cat with worse ones! This purifier keeps us both happy and healthy. It is completely affordable and works perfectly! The whisper mode is very quite, thus you never notice it is running. The filter is easy to change and has sensors to tell you when a change is needed. Also it is super easy to clean and move around. Also I have never had to change the UV bulb, what more could you ask for? I have found no flaws with this product. I highly recommend it!

I just want to say that after three years using this device I reduce my colds in about 50% so I only get sick maybe one or two times a year after I purchase it, because in the night when we sleep is when we are more vunerable, after using this model I reduce all my complication, the only issue is when the hepa filter start to fill with dust, is not a silent device anymore, so It will depends how dry is the weather in your Area.

Purchased two of these, one for daughter's bedroom and one for her dorm room. UV light was a selling point because dorms are famous for spreading viruses, though I suspect that most viruses are spread by things they touch in the common bathrooms rather than by air.
Can't say how well they filter, but noise level is acceptable, they move a lot of air in high speed so they help keep her comfortable on hot nights without turning on the ceiling fan. Both units are now over two years old and both still work perfectly.

I've had this unit running nonstop for about 4 years. Filters are very expensive but I think I have only replaced the main filter once and it still seems to be moving a lot of air.

This HEPA filter puts out air which smells funny and exacerbates my asthma. I do not recommend it. My Honeywell works much better.
