5 out of 5 stars great book for beginners!   May 26, 2008
C. Baez (Dominican Republic)
I bought this book for my pampered 18 yr. old brother whose moving away to college and we've used it every week since it got here to cook a different recipe, it's easy for him to follow the directions, has lots of how-to pictures and everything we make is delicious! He's actually taken a liking to cooking!

3 out of 5 stars It's OK but not all that   May 21, 2008

I got this book because it was listed as being very simple and easy to follow. Which it is .. pretty much. But it's not all that rah rah siss boom bah as previously suggested. For one .. I think recipes selected aren't representative of what one expected. They are kinda boring

I DO like the vegetables and desserts part though as I got great ideas. But .. overall .. this book wasn't ALL that it was purported to be

This is a nice beginner's cookbook - I bought it for my nephew and as he leafed through it he was commenting on that number of recipes that he wanted to try.

5 out of 5 stars A great choice   March 12, 2008
Lauren Mattioli (Marquette, Michigan)
I love this cookbook! The basic techniques are really well explained for a novice home cook, I especially liked the section on Thanksgiving preparation. The recipes are approachable, no wacky or expensive ingredients, and the tricker techniques are well explained, many even have subset pictures. Worth the price!

5 out of 5 stars I love this cookbook!   March 6, 2008

This cookbook is very handy. They give you ways to make some of the recipes healthier and the recipes are just so handy. I made a blueberry muffin that was just as easy as using a box and they tasted much better!
