Product Description Zojirushi CDLCC30WG Panorama Window Micom Electric Dispensing Pot with easy-touch electric dispensing system.
Amazon.com Review A handy workhorse for homes where tea is a staple, this 3.0-liter Micom pot from Zojirushi boils water then keeps it hot. Equipped with a handy electric dispenser, the unit requires no pouring and makes it easy to fill mug after mug or add a quick shot of hot water to a bowl of oatmeal or ramen. A micro-computerized heating system monitors water temperature precisely and includes a re-boil mode and three keep-warm settings of 175, 195, or 208 degrees F. In addition, a dechlorinating mode helps reduce chlorine and odors, while a descaling mode cleans the interior pot. The unit also has a timer so you can program it to have water hot on your schedule. The pot's control touchpad is cleanly laid out, with satisfying buttons, function lights, and a digital display that shows present water temperature, temperature setting, and remaining time. An automatic lock helps keep fingers safe, and an automatic safety device cuts power to prevent overheating. Other helpful details include a wrap-around water level gauge, a 360-degree swivel base, a nonstick interior, a removable power cord, and a basket-style handle to simplify transport. The pot is no speed demon, taking about 27 minutes to boil a 3.0 liters, but its convenience makes up for the initial time investment. Zojirushi also makes the pot in 2.2-liter and 4.0-liter versions. --Emily Bedard

Interior coating coming off August 31, 2008 W. Qin (MA)
After two years' of continuous use, interior coating is coming off. A few rusty spots have developed in the past 6 months. The company's website does not provide a replace container. I liked the Zojirushi brand but this one seems a disappointment.
Indispensible August 31, 2008 N. Lee (Boston, MA) This type of hot water dispenser is standard for most traditional Asian households, and unless you never drink hot beverages, I wonder how other families do without it.
The product does what it advertises, and is way more convenient than a kettle. I still use the kettle if I need a large quantity of hot water for other purposes. For individual cups of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. and for cooking, this dispenser makes it much easier. This and a rice cooker make an Asian kitchen complete.
Zen! August 20, 2008 Nami S. Nielipinski My Zojirushi helps me get so relaxed!
In Japan where I grew up these "Magic Decanter" electric pots were at every household. After many years of living in the U.S. and not having it I finally bought one from Amazon and realized how much I had missed it!
Now, I can have my cup of tea instantly, don't have to fumble and wait with a kettle or a stove. And when I'm really famished, I can make cup noodles instantly and scarf it down. When I have surprise guests, I can serve them hot tea immediately.
I'm loyal to the brand so I had to have this one, but if you want something cheaper Amazon sells Panasonic NC-EH30PC 3 Quart Electric Thermo Pot for about $70 with free shipping. Check it out - it's essentially the same thing. As for the Zojirushi, I love the brand and it's a really good product but I took 1 star off for the price, as well as the lack of "ON/OFF" button. (You have to plug on/off instead.)
Also, they could improve the ease/difficulty of using the timer setting in order to have the machine shut off automatically (most people shut it off during night to save electricity, and have it automatically turn on before you wake up in the morning). I still can't figure out how to set my timer, it seems confusing to me.
Great way to save energy and have hot water on demand July 30, 2008 Billie M. York Aberfarm (willis, tx United States) This little pot heats up 3 liters of water in a flash and holds temperature with little power consumption compared to repeatedly heating a teapot on the stove. You can select the hold temperature, reboil or use 7 hour delay heating... Gets rid of chlorine and degases the water, hence water tastes better. The unit is teflon coated and so it doesn't rust like some cheaper models. To descale (get rid of calcium build-up) you can use 1/8 cup of vingear in the water, close top, boil and pump to dispense the acidified water; rinse and use all neat and clean. High quality kitchen device - Small foot pad - Looks great on counter top!
Perfect for tea lovers July 22, 2008 Mark D. Derwin (Pa) I used the hot pot while visiting my relatives in Japan, knowing how well theY pay attention to energy saving products, I decided to purchase one myself. I find the product to be the perfect fit for tea drinkers and coffee press users. Not bad for the occasional Ramen noodles in a cup!
