1 out of 5 stars Sharp quality going down   June 17, 2008
M. Weyant (Dover, DE United States)
My wife and I brought our first Countertop Microwave/Convention back in 1996.The way convention ovens brown,we can't be without ours. The replacement model was the SharpR930AW.Ordered on-line as many local stores do not carry microwave/convention combos.Hard to find. After openning the box,it went all down hill.Plugged it in, light inside unit came on, thought nothing of it, until I touched the top of the unit, it got so hot,had to unplug it. Turntable was running whole time, never shut off.Control panel never worked when buttons pushed. Returned it. What is so unbelieveable about this is the 2nd one we ordered did the same thing. It didn't get as hot on top, buttons didn't work and the door would not close. Sharp spends alot of time in its own set-up manual on door inspection. This unit was also returned. This product should be removed from the market.Worked liked it was assembled in third world. I have zero confidence in Sharp.Custom service was no help-got the GE PEB1950/JE1590 model - worked great first time.

4 out of 5 stars Full of features at a reasonable price   November 9, 2007

I have gone through 2 previous GE microwave ovens that were relatively expensive and did not last. This one does double duty as a convection oven and has more features than either of the other 2. The controls are a bit unusual and take some getting used to.

I live in a motor home and don't like to use the LP gas oven. I bought this Convection Microwave as a solution. It is larger than a standard microwave but does a wonderful job of baking as well as the routine microwave functions. It is one of the best products we have ever purchased for the kitchen. Comes with complete user manual and recipe book.

I HAVE HAD THIS MACHINE SINCE 1984 AND RECENTLY REPLACED IT. I THINK IT IS THE GREATEST COOKING UNIT. I HIGHLY RECOMEND IT
