A #1 rated knife for $5.00 July 17, 2008 Stephen G. Horlick (Gillette, WY) Paring knives have their rightful place in your kitchen. This little fella was rated tops on America's test kitchen.
Great knife June 21, 2008 P. Hobbs This knife has a good feel to it and is very sharp though I would not consider it a "paring" knife. I would recommend it because it's good quality at a great price. (My idea of a paring knife is something a little smaller with a curved handle and blade.)
Great paring knife for the price! May 27, 2008 Melissa A. Minor (Kennesaw, GA) This is a great little knife for a great price! I have an assortment of more expensive paring knives, none of which keeps an edge for very long. This one keeps its edge, is light and easy to hold, and was cheap.
The Absolute Best May 9, 2008 Adam M. Giblin (Cambridge, MA United States) This is absolutely the best paring knife I've ever purchased. I bought it after reading in Cooks Illustrated that it beat its more expensive peers in essentially all of their tests, and it has done the same in my kitchen. It is a little more flexible than most paring knives, though still rigid enough to be used with anything. I end up using it for tasks that would normally require a much larger chef's knife because it's so convenient and comfortable.
I generally use Wusthof Classic knives, including a Wuesthof Gourmet 4-Inch Paring Knife that costs $19. That's enough to buy three of these perfect little Forschner knives and still have some money left over. Do yourself a favor and buy the three Forschner ones.
Since my original purchase, I have bought at least 5 more of these knives for myself and others. Never will your loved ones be so thankful for a $5 gift!
I've had these knives for a while and have had no issues with them losing sharpness -- I occasionally run the knife over a sharpening steel just to make sure the blade is still aligned, but it really shouldn't require any care. And if you do have any problems -- hey, it only cost five bucks.
Awesome knife! March 25, 2008 C. H. Carson Everything I am looking for in a paring knife... I will be buying another one after discovering how great it works for me. Fantastic price for such an awesome knife.
