| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The chef's knife is a kitchen staple, with a wide straight edged blade ideally suited to cutting and chopping fruits and vegetables, herbs, and so on. Some may find the 10" length too awkward and unwieldy, and for those people we recommend this slightly shorter knife. R. H. Forschner is a division of Swiss Army Brands, Inc, renowned for the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. These knives are specially ground and tempered so that they can be resharpened over and over again, keeping a sharp edge throughout their lifetime. State of the art technology blended with old world craftsmanship produce cutting instruments of excellent quality, at reasonable prices. Forschner Victorinox Fibrox knives have earned high marks in a well-known cooking magazine which stringently tests kitchen products.

Great handle, good blade August 5, 2008 Ted M (San Diego, CA) I love the fibrox handle - cutting bbq from my smoker or trimming meat for any type of cooking, it never feels slippery. 8 inch blade is easy to handle. My wife and I found the blade to not be up to our standards for sharpness out of the box and testing against her favorite chef's knife proved first impressions to be true. Sharpened, it became the workhorse knife of the kitchen.
I just chipped the blade abusing it by substituting it for my missing butcher knife and am back to buy another. If the "boneless" frozen pork been truly boneless, it would have survived. Coming back to buy another is probably the highest recommendation I can give but it has as much to do with it's price as it does it's utility.
My wife still prefers her Japanese knife but we certainly wouldn't try to substitute it for a butcher knife due to the cost. With the relatively low cost of the Forschner, I don't have to worry. Wish I could graft the handle to all my knives.
Exellent August 4, 2008 Pomposo R. Villarreal (Needham, MA United States) Well balanced, very sharp, easy to clean, stays sharp after many uses. Have a least 2 or more in your knife drawer
great chef's knife August 4, 2008 Skinner (Florida) Very easy to handle, nice balance, holds edge and very inexpensive. Good dollar performance ratio. A nice addition to a working kitchen
Bold and Unafraid August 2, 2008 Hugh L. Wattenberg (Waltham, MA) This knife is not afraid. I saw a review of this knife in a well-known cooking and kitchen-product testing magazine: it got high marks for stability, effectiveness, and price, if I recall correctly. I'm not about to get married anytime soon, so I figured the only way to get a good knife was to buy one myself. I bought this knife to see what this knife line was all about. It's invincible!
Just my 2 cents July 29, 2008 STARVINGSTUDENT (California) As if this needs any more praises, but I will give it nonetheless. Great knife! I was skeptical at first, but using a huge watermelon as a test subject, I saw the difference between this and my current knives. Cuts so easily...loooove it!
