This Presto CoolDaddy electric deep fryer includes several features that help you make tasty fried chicken, fish, shrimp, and French fries for up to six people. Its adjustable thermostat ranges from 250 to 375 degrees F, and its bright red indicator light signals when the oil has reached the desired temperature so food cooks no longer than necessary. A viewing window lets you track progress without opening the cover, and an included wire basket with an exterior handle means you can prevent spatters by lowering food into hot oil with the lid down. Smart in structure, the fryer has a cool-touch exterior and a locking cover with a push-button latch for safety. Its anti-odor charcoal air filter removes without hassle, and the interior cooking pot is nonstick for quick cleanup. I bought this deep fryer so that the scent could be contained very well and it worked well. I like the fact that you can actually clean every part that the oil comes into contact with by taking it apart. It can fry stuff very quickly and evenly without turning all the time. I will advice you to go for it because it does not look cheap like most of those i see on the shelves.

Love this CoolDaddy fryer! Before I purchased a fryer, I read all the reviews here at Amazon and finally decided on this fryer.
Right after we received the fryer here, hubby decided to try it out. Now he always has at least 'one' negative comment about anything I buy so was waiting for that comment to happen. Nope..never did. He just raved how GREAT it was and still does every time he uses it. I personally have not had a chance to use it yet as he wants to use it whenever we need to use it for cooking. This says a LOT in our household!
I definately would recommend this deep fryer to anyone. Heats up quickly and stays hot to correct temperature. Does a super job!

Since others have given a basic description of this fryer, I'll skip all of that and tell you why I returned it. One of the reasons that I decided on this fryer was the ability to close the cover while raising and lowering food into and out of the oil to prevent splattering hot oil all over the counter. The basket in the unit that I received could not be raised or lowered with the top cover latched. Once the cover was closed the mechanism for releasing the basket assembly was inoperable. Simply put, this was a deal wrecker for me. My overall impression of the fryer was not especilly high. I would describe the quality as less than I was expecting, lightweight, flimsy, with a plastic sort of feel to the whole thing. I think I'll start over and spend a little more money on a more quality fryer. Cannot recommend this one. This is the first time I have used the Amazon return process and found it to be as easy as it gets. Thanks Amazon. As a side note I have an observation about negative reviews in general. I find that more often than not negative reviews get "not helpful" responces from readers. I guess it's human nature to not want to hear a negative about something that one is interested in buying. Point is--a negative can be as helpful as a positive review because it might just save you the headache of returning the item and starting over as I have done. Thanks for reading this. The unit works well; it heats quickly, I love the closing cover before you drop the basket to eliminate oil splash. The oil pan removes for easy cleaning. I did find that I had to cook longer than the product stated, but that was really no problem, everything came out great. I would reccomend this unit.

Nice thing is, you can control the temperature. Some deep fryers do not have this feature. Makes crispy foods fast.
