This fryer is easy to use and clean, heats up quickly, and drains food very efficiently.

5 out of 5 stars deep fryer   September 19, 2008

I looked at a lot of fryers and read many reviews. The Waring Pro DF100 does a great job! It has just enough oil to stay hot when you put in a pound of frozen french fries. Thawed battered fish, mushrooms and veggies also turn out very well. The filtered vent in the top works well but you do get some smell. I would buy this fryer again and recommed it to a friend.

5 out of 5 stars Good design, easy to use, works well   September 13, 2008

Easy to use, easy to disassemble, easy to clean, delicious food - - what's not to like?

The design is very nice. It really is a "Cool touch". Mechanisms for opening and closing the lid, lifting and lowering the basket are very smooth.

The only reason I'd buy a more expensive model would be to get a larger capacity, but that would entail more counter space, more cost for oil -- not worth it for home use.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent deep fryer   August 28, 2008

I have owned this model for about a year now and it is a perfect fit for my kitchen counter. It has a nice housing that doesn't make it look industrial, like many of the other brands and models do. I suspect that these other brands are intentionally made to look industrial to give home cooks the illusion that they're somehow at another skill level. Yet for me this model gives a more delicate, home feeling to owning a deep fryer. In terms of actual cooking, it has worked perfectly for us and thats why I bought the same model after I broke the first one (my own fault).

The reason I broke my first one is related to the only complaint I have about this model: cleaning. I imagine that all deep fryers are difficult to clean, so this one is likely no worse than all the others. What I did though was boil soapy water to remove the caked on grease from the basket and when the water level dropped below the heating element, it burned out. Stupid mistake on my part and I won't be doing that again. Also in regards to cleaning, I used oven cleaner on the underside of the lid, which then became scuffed up. It wasn't the stainless steel apparently that is used in the oil basin and was obviously another stupid error on my part.

Perhaps the more industrial models can handle the more aggressive cleaning regimes (oven cleaners, etc...), but other than that this it is the perfect model for me. I can sacrifice the cleaning aspect for the look and feel of this model.

This personal deep fryer is a "keeper" ... works great and easy clean up ... what else could you ask for in a deep fryer ... Rodney
