Product Description The Cuisinart MM2M Mini Mate jumps into action with a high speed motor, while you call the shots via 2-speed push button control. Two speed operation and precise fingertip control leads to perfection in chopping, grinding and grating.
Amazon.com Review The Mini-Mate makes quick work of small kitchen prep jobs that might otherwise require difficult and messy chopping, grinding, and grating: nuts, nutmeg, and cinnamon sticks, peppercorns and seeds, garlic and anchovies, even chocolate and citrus peel. With a patented reversible blade for sharp or blunt processing, and two speeds of operation, it is well equipped to handle a variety of jobs. Though it has a high-speed motor and durable stainless-steel motor shaft, keep in mind that the Mini-Mate is designed for small amounts of food: 2 tablespoons is the maximum recommended for one batch, and food pieces should be no larger than 1/2 inch. Purchase it to complement, not replace, a larger, full-function food processor. An instruction book that accompanies the processor details how to process many common foods and troubleshoot problems so you know how to best use and care for your Mini Mate. Cleanup and completion of small jobs is quicker and more efficient because of the small size, though the many parts of the Mini Mate require disassembly, careful cleaning, and reassembly, which does add to total cleaning time. If you don't have the time or the patience for smaller detail-oriented prep jobs, Mini Mate is a great kitchen aid. --Emily Wolf

Flimsy, poorly engineered, and not good at chopping or grinding August 25, 2008 M. Smith (Seattle, WA USA) I got this as a freebie with my Cuisinart food processor, and because it was free it gets a star. If I had bought this little useless contraption, I would outright fail it.
Here's a quick list of it's flaws:
1. Hard to clean 2. Hard to control. You're always one pulse away from turning chopped into paste. 3. Grinds coffee inconsistently, leaving a mixture of fine powder with big chunks. 4. Unable to grind most spices beyond course grit. 5. Low and High setting seem to really mean "vibrate lots" or "vibrate everything on the counter." 6. Very counterintuitive design. Filling the bottom with whatever you happen to be grinding makes it difficult to put the blade on it's plastic node thingy. 7. Cheaply constructed. Aformentioned plastic node thingy the blade slides on stripped with proper use. Plastic container got a fracture the bottom within weeks and scarred easily from grinding. White top stains easily. 8. Loud.
Positives:
1. Free
Do not buy this. Get it for free with a rebate and use it until you have enough saved for a proper grinder.
Smears Cuisinart name June 28, 2008 L.A. (Rome, NY) The first one I owned stopped working within a few months. I thought it was my fault for overloading it. The second one broke with no apparent abuse on my part. DO NOT BUY THIS!
Great for making Mineral Makeup! May 20, 2008 TechnoJunkie (Oregon) I make my own mineral makeup and I go thru a grinder every six months or so. So far so good with this one - and it's very quiet, which I like a lot!
How much I enjoy my Cuisinart mini mate chopper February 29, 2008 William E. Stinnett (Enid Oklahoma) My wife said I made a great choice on this. Do not hear this from my wife very often. Good price
More Chinese Landfill December 21, 2007 E. Ohberg Tried to make almond butter in this thing. It lasted about 4 minutes before it burned out, even when following directions stating that it should not be used continually but in brief intervals. Its no wonder our land fills are getting filled up so fast........
