Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
Heating up a little chowder or hot chocolate is easy with this tidy blue hot pot from Proctor-Silex. Built to handle up to 1 quart at a time, the pot features a variable temperature dial to let you gently warm soup or quickly boil water for tea. A comfortable, soft-grip handle makes accurate pouring easy, while the lid removes completely for measuring, cooking, and cleaning. Stable on its base, the unit measures 10-1/2 by 8 by 6 inches and has handy quantity markings on the inside. It boils 4 cups of water in nine minutes and heats up soup in as few as two. The sides of the friendly blue pot are slightly translucent so you can see at a glance how much liquid is left. --Emily Bedard

5 out of 5 stars Proctor Silex Hot Pot   January 18, 2008

LOVE IT!!!!! I have this one in my office to make Ramen Noodles. I put the water in, It boils in under 2 minutes, I add noodles and presto, I have lunch in under 4 minutes. I've been using this for about a year now and it still looks and works like new. All I do is rinse it out as soon as I am finished eating. I can't imagine having anything that would be more convenient or reliable.

quick boiling.
the only thing I don't like is there is no auto turn-off function when it is boiling.

I must have misread the description on this item. I thought I could do more than boil water with it. No brochure came with it to describe uses.

On the whole I like it very much. I'm not fond of the fact that it won't turn off automatically, and if the lid isn't on perfectly the steam can give your wrist a little "ouch". Otherwise I'm pleased with it and use it on a daily basis.

4 out of 5 stars Satisfactory product   August 29, 2006

The product is satisfactory. It heats quickly. I do wish that the cord could be disconnected from the unit.
