Product Description Built-in whistle signals when water is boiling. Boils water even faster than a microwave. Large no-drip spout makes filling and pouring extra easy. Flip-up stainless steel lid directs steam away while pouring. Anodized interior base resists mineral build-up - helps keep inside clean! Thermostatic shut-off ensures safety if unit boils dry
Amazon.com Review Americans are just beginning to catch on to what Europeans have known for ages: Electric kettles boil water faster than stove-top kettles. This compact tea kettle holds a quart of water and boils it even faster than a microwave, with the added advantage of a built-in whistle to let you know when the water is ready. The more water in the kettle, the louder the whistle. A stainless-steel lid on the no-drip spout flips up for easy filling and pouring, and keeps steam away from hands. Two additional safety features: a maximum fill line on the spout prevents boil-overs, and a thermostat automatically turns off the heating element in case the kettle boils dry or gets plugged in while empty. The exterior of the kettle is stay-cool plastic, and the interior base is anodized to resist mineral build-up. Compact and lightweight with a 2-foot cord, the kettle measures 7 by 6-1/2 inches and comes with a one-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Works fine July 22, 2008 Jean B. Carson (GA) Works just fine. Only request would be for an on/off switch so you don't always have to unplug it. Otherwise, great for the price.
Great little whistling electric tea kettle April 6, 2008 Wendy (Woodland Hills, CA USA) My old Hot Pot finally died and so I bought this one a couple of months ago. I love the fact that it whistles when the water is boiling because sometimes it's easy to forget. It doesn't take long and your water is hot. It's the perfect size and works very well. I highly recommend this electric tea kettle.
Low profile and super fast February 25, 2008 Linda Smiles (Oak Park, IL) The low profile makes this kettle superior to many of the others- there is no danger of knocking it over and it is easy to fill under the faucet. The kettle is superfast, easy to fill with a little notch inside the spout to show the full line and easy to pour. The cord is short but I don't find it a problem. The whistle is great, the water is usually done by the time I have the teapot and tray ready.
I also use this teakettle to heat water to pour down my drains to keep them running without the use of chemicals. It is so easy to take this upstairs, fill it, boil the water and pour it down the bathroom sink drain to keep it clear. Before this I had to carry a kettle of boiling water upstairs. There is no on/off switch but that seems to be the way they are making most electric appliances, my grill, waffle maker and panini press are all like that. Buy it on sale, you can't go wrong.
Teakettle February 8, 2008 PCilla (Sterling, VA) We've had an electric tea kettle for many years now. The new models availavle in local retail stores are probably faster in heating but just not suited for our kitchen counter. This item used to be sold in stores but I was able to find it only on Amazon.
Good for the price January 13, 2008 Craig Andrew Martin (San Mateo, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
There are very few electric teapots that whistle. I got this for my office so that I get a signal that the water's boiling when I'm cruising on email, meeting with people or engrossed in other work. I wish it had an on-off switch. Also the pot itself gets frightfully hot (no insulation), but it's not a problem holding the handle. It gets the job done. Pretty inexpensive, too. I might upgrade later for a more robustly featured pot. But for now, this gets my tea.
