Never got to use vacuum December 30, 2008 P. Rahbar I ordered this vacuum from totalvac and on the page there it is advertised to come with the mini turbine head, bare floor tool, extra filter, and 10 yr warranty. It doesn't come with any and they are impossible to deal with or get ahold of. The first one was broken and missing parts and we sent it back and spoke to the lady in returns and told her the problem, so we received the 2nd one and once again missing everything. We will be sending this back for a refund and buy one from somewhere else. Be careful what you buy from this company, they have false advertisement.
HOW AWESOME CAN A VACUUM BE - RE-MANUFACTURED DYSON DC14 - ANIMAL December 21, 2008 Richard Tjomsland (Encinitas, CA USA) Remanufactured Dyson DC14 Full-Kit Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner - ANIMAL
If you want to see less of your wife, buy her this vacuum. I bought it for my wife and she loves it so much, it seems like she wants, not needs, to use this vacuum every day. Before trying the Dyson, she had 3 Oreck Vacuum Cleaners. So, prior to using the Dyson, she used the Oreck and then vacuumed the same areas with the Dyson. You would not believe how much dirt and dust that the Dyson picked up behind the Oreck. So, now the Orecks go on Craigslist and my wife is a pleasure to be around while she is vacuuming the house. (Just a little joke.) The Dyson is useful for furniture, stairs, carpet, hardwood floors, anything. And, incidentally, we have a cat which means we had cat hair, but not anymore.
My wife has owned about every kind of vacuum cleaner known to mankind and the Dyson is absolutely her all time favorite. I was also concerned about buying a re-manufactured vacuum. That has never been a problem and it came to us looking like it was brand new. Just read the reviews of satisfied users. And, save some dollars by buying a re-manufactured Dyson. There is a reason they refer to this to as the "Animal". Let it lose in your home and you will see.
Why A Techie Bought A Dyson December 11, 2008 A Little Bit Geeky (Philadelphia, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Dog hair is a big problem --it clogs up all of the vacuums and often they smell bad even after cleaning the filter. The Dyson is supposed to be good at picking up dog hair and I saw on YouTube that you can take it all apart very easily and clean it.
I bought the refurb because it came with the turbo and low floor tools I wanted. I hoped it would be a good one (and it was like new). The turbo tool pulled all of the dog hair and dander off the chairs quickly without any effort on my part. I just pressed the button on the dust cup and watched all of the dirt come out. Wow!
I wanted to test taking the Dyson apart and followed the directions on the Dyson support site for poor suction. The Dyson is designed to be easily disassembled and reassembled. You can even wash the cyclone unit in a sink to remove the dog dander which I think clogs up the other vacuums (because you cannot clean them) and causes them to sometimes run hot.
Vacuuming the stairs always meant dragging the vacuum with me, but the Dyson extension hose is long enough to reach to the top of the stairs so I can now leave the vacuum behind. Another plus is that the extension hose snaps off the vacuum and makes it similar to a shopvac. This means you don't have to worry about the vacuum falling over and hitting you in the head when you try to use the tools.
Is the Dyson better than a Rainbow? To be honest, I would clean the dog hair up with a Dyson before using my Rainbow because it would fill up the water basket before I could get into my spring cleaning. I like both machines but for everyday cleaning I pull out my Dyson.
I love my new vacuum! November 23, 2008 Krazykelly (Utah) I have loved this vacuum. It does a great job. It's great to be able to use it on my carpet tile and wood floors. The price was excellent. What a bonus.
works great but.... November 23, 2008 Kevin B the product works great but came with a broken piece which means i cant hand my attachments on the vacum.
