November 14, 2008 MustangJill (Maumee, Ohio United States) I was excited to find a sturdy, nice looking and what I thought was a well designed juicer that would fit into a drawer. It seemed to have a great design--until I used it. To me, it was difficult to use--the middle juicer part seemed small and slippery and sat too far down into the dish--it seemed that it was awkward to use in that my fingers hit the edges when I was trying to press and twist the lime down onto the utensil. Also, for some reason, the lime kept trying to slip off the juicer part--seemed too slippery. So, I am still looking for the perfect small juicer that fits in a drawer--like my Mom used to have--it was metal, so it was sturdy and had the perfect sized slots to prevent seeds from getting into the juice and you could juice into any size of container--just set the juicer on top of what ever measuring cup you were using. Oh well. I did see a cheap plastic version, but I have had plastic juicers before and know that they just do not last long. I would buy a larger hand press juicer if I had room in a cupbard or on a counter to put it, but I don't. Anyway, I was disappointed in this juicer.

This juicer is exactly what you need for juicing limes, or any other citrus fruit, one or two at a time. It works well, is stable and comfortable, and is a breeze to clean. The porcelain is dishwasher-safe and doesn't degrade like plastic.
I saw this juicer on sale at a local store and its clean, effective design so impressed me that I immediately snapped up the only blue one remaining.
Compared to Nigella's design, the ubiquitous plastic-and-glass juicer is uncomfortable, unstable, and nearly impossible to clean (and on its way to Goodwill!), and there's no point to heavier hardware for small jobs.
If you want to mix your drinks right (with fresh fruit) it's a bar-top essential.
