microwave April 8, 2008 H. Ensley (San Diego, Ca) microwave door busted on shipment, return and replacement was quick. Replacement did not work, covered under warrenty but had to take to a Sharp servicer for repair.

The Sharp microwave is a fine product. It is easy to use, attractive in appearance, easy to clean, and usually well made. My particular experience is not typical. I had the misfortune to get one with a loose plate over the magnetron tube, and it buzzes when turned on. Contact with the company was competent, and required me to take it to a nearby city to have it looked at. I will do so when I can find someone to help me. Meantime, I have learned that the buzzing is not harmful, just irksome. I have used Sharp microwaves before and always found them excellent.
Good big microwave May 14, 2007 Lynn I was looking for a family size microwave with power enough to do whatever I needed it to do. I'm still tinkering with the sensor cooking and so far it seems to work well. I can adjust the power and use it that way. I'm still a little unsure of the sensor defrost, but we will see how it goes. We had a Sharp before our last mic. oven and it was great. Worked well for years.

I'm not that crazy about the keypad but otherwise it works like a charm.
Sharp hits home run August 25, 2006 Kenneth L. O'connor 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is the best Microwave we have ever owned. The last Sharp lasted 10 years but cost twice as much and did not come close to this one. We tried an experiment with the Sensor setting and cooked a piece of Tilapia in the regular oven and the other filet in the Sharp 530 following the one screen help menu. The Microwave fish was tastier and more moist and cooked in 1/2 the time of the oven. The sensor works wonders with reheating and defrosting and we find we are using it more than we ever used the older one. I have recommended it to several co-workers and friends who are in the market for a great microwave at a super price. Ken
