5 out of 5 stars A 10 year WORKHORSE!   December 23, 2008
Helen (United States)
Well, I certainly cook a lot and use my machines more than most people. I purchased this 3 speed KitchenAid hand mixer well over 10yrs ago and I have actually used it many times for tollhouse cookies and other stiff batters. The motor has stood the test of time and never burned out! The last few years I ugraded to a KitchenAid stand mixer and left my hand mixer for the finer art of cheesecakes and other lightweight tasks. If it were not for one of the beaters that keeps disengaging (something internal broke)I would still be singing its praises. Unfortunately, I have to replace it now because of the problem with the beater not staying locked in place....BUT I will invest in another similar unit. You really don't need tons of speeds or fancy digital settings....JUST A GOOD RELIABLE MACHINE that DOES what it is asked to do.

I have owned this for about 2 years. No oomf or real power. Struggles through cookie dough. The end of the beater broke off at the weld site...time for a new mixer!

1 out of 5 stars BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AT TARGET   August 2, 2008
Shell (USA)

I am appalled at the lack of customer service at Target. I registered a Target List for my housewarming party and my friends and family proceeded to spend hundreds of dollars buying me gifts from Target.

Because of the incompetence of Target employees, many items were not removed from the registry when bought, & as a result I received duplicate items. One item in particular that I received two of was a KitchenAid 3-Speed Hand Mixer for $37.89. I do not need two mixers. Because it was over $30 & I was not given a gift receipt, I was told I could not return it for store credit. I was shocked that such a big deal would be made over a simple request to return a duplicate item from my registry for store credit. It's not as if Target would be losing any money, and it is clearly shown on my Target List as being an item I registered for.

The employees and store manager for the Target in Temecula, CA on Rancho California Road were incredibly rude and smug in their refusal to help me. The manager tried to intimidate me by standing close to me and leaning over me & repeatedly saying there was nothing he could do. I was given the phone to speak with a person who was asked to override the return, and they gave me canned reasons as to why they couldn't do it in a thick foreign accent, leading me to believe they are some customer service phone rep in another country trained to lead customers in circles instead of helping them with their problem. In short, no one would help me, and I was made to feel like I had done something wrong, when I am the customer and I had brought business to this company by choosing to register with it. My simple request should've been accommodated. The $37.89 mixer should've been returned for store credit. That is NOT a lot to ask. Instead I left the store in tears with a mixer I don't need.

The treatment by Target employees has been disgustingly rude. Has Target never heard of customer service?
I chose this company to register with, and basically brought a lot of business to Target, and now I am having that thrown in my face when I want to do something as simple as return a duplicate item from my registry.

I will never shop at Target again and will do my best to make known the disgusting attitude displayed by its employees. It is clear that Target has no respect for its customers.

---

Whatever you do, just don't buy this mixer from TARGET. They are EVIL.

This product is horrible!!! I have not had it very long and both the beaters are already broken. I did not even use it to make anything tough like cookie dough because it was so underpowered. Do not waste your time or your money on this.

1 out of 5 stars Quick burn out   November 22, 2007

I used it for the second time today. The motor started putting off blue flame and then burnt out. I was putting on final touch on some already mashed potatoes, nothing difficult. Not what I expected from Kitchen Aid.
