too fast November 23, 2008 M. Seeley This mixer is very frustrating to use. As other reviews noted the lowest speed is just too fast. Go with a kitchenaid!
Good power but slow speed is too fast! September 12, 2007 T. Denman (Florida USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Doesn't feel cheap, almost too heavy for a lot of mixing though. Good power but I don't notice much difference from speed 1 to 6. The lowest speed is far too fast. I got this to make (among other things) pudding and it just splatters the mix everywhere. It would be nice if the low speed was like a folding, gentle mix kind of speed. Not what I had hoped it would be.
Great Product, Great Price May 7, 2007 Dawn Schanz 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Living in rural Maine, about the only place around here to get a hand mixer is WalMart. I was very unimpressed with the quality of the mixers that our store carried. I bought my last mixer there, and it didn't last a year. I have other Sunbeam products--an iron, a breadmaker--and have been pleased with their performance. I read a lot of the reviews here on Amazon before ordering my mixer. I agree with what most people say about it. It was well worth the price. It is a nice handling mixer, has good balance, and doesn't feel cheap. It has plenty of power to do anything that I need it for. I don't think I've even used the highest setting yet. The biggest test for any mixer I use is a big batch of chocolate chip cookies. This will work one up with ease. The only reason I hesitate to give it a five star rating is the fact that I haven't had it for a long time yet. If it lasts, it will be worth a 5.
