Amazon.com Review This waterproof, custom-sized cover stretches to fit over the 19-by-10-by-8-inch Lodge Sportsman's grill, a hibachi-style grill made of heavy cast iron with legs. Since the grill is a little heavy to haul inside and back out to the patio for every barbecue party, this cover allows the grill to stay outdoors protected from rain and rust. Handy for camping trips too, when rain is in the forecast, the cover is made of heavy-duty black polyester, textured on the outside and lined with smooth PVC. The shock-cord edge pulls wide and snaps into place rather like a shower cap. Any soot, dirt, or moisture that accumulates on the cover can be easily wiped off with a sponge. --Ann Bieri

Ok but it eventually fades and leaks September 25, 2008 J. Beach (Lawrence, KS, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I never thought I would write a review of a grill cover, but Amazon dared me! Here's the skinny. The cover fits tightly but it is a tad short to cover the legs all the way down to their tips with its strong elastic edge. No big deal, the cast iron legs are not in danger of rusting out. I've had mine out on the patio in the Kansas sun for two summers and it has faded to a gray color on top, still black on the bottom, no big deal from my view either. But one little annoyance is that the seams on the fabric (all the way around the top edge when it is on) leak. So in a heavy rain water will drip inside and lead to surface rusting. That kind of defeats the purpose of the cover. This can probably be solved with the use of tent seam sealer. Are there awards for this kind of vital, investigative consumer reporting? The grill is great!

Great cover overall. Tight fit makes it difficult to get on grill is why I didn't give it 5 stars.
Great Coverup July 29, 2008 L. F. Slikkers (Grill City IN) When I bought the Lodge Sportsman Grill, I knew I wouldn't have a place to store it inside, so getting a good quality cover was important. This cover does the job! Other reviewers have said the cover fit too tight, but I have not had that as a problem. I purchased a Lodge cast iron trivet and with $2.50 worth of hardware from my local hardware store I attached the trivet as an add on warming tray. The cover even slides over the trivet with ease.
Essential cover for the Lodge Sportsman's Grill May 27, 2008 R. MANSFIELD (Simpsonville, Kentucky) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got both the grill and this cover last week. Contrary to what one of the reviews says here, it fits perfectly with no shortage at the bottom. I have provided my own photograph at the top of this page that shows the cover on my grill. The elastic at the bottom of the cover allows it to pull tight UNDER the feet of the grill allowing very little chance of rain getting directly on the grill. You're still going to have to put up with the possibility of rust on the grill simply from moisture in the air, but at least it won't be raining on it.
Lodge Sportsman's Cover September 11, 2007 N. Clements 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is a nice heavy duty cover for the Lodge Sportsman's Grill, however, the cover is made about an inch or so too small and must be stretched everytime to fit the cover over the grill. This is a hassle!!! It would be better if looser, with a drawstring at the bottom. Probably outsourced to a manufacturing plant in CHINA, so you are stuck with a cover that a wife cannot stretch over the grill!
