This electric rice cooker from Zojirushi provides useful capacity and handy details, not to mention the ability to keep rice moist, warm, and fresh for up to 12 hours after cooking is finished. The cooker is a good size for small families or couples, handling between 1 and 5.5 cups of rice at a time and requiring cooking times ranging from 12 to 24 minutes. Operation is incredibly simple--just add rice and water, depress the power tab, and walk away. The lock-tight lid maximizes cooking conditions, and the cooker automatically switches to keep-warm mode when the rice is finished. Indicator lights help you track what stage your rice is in, and the removable nonstick interior pot is clearly marked in cups and liters to guide you with quantities. The cooker's durable housing has a low-key pastel floral design, and the inner lid and inner pot can both be removed for hand-washing. Clever extras on this model include a retractable power cord, a condensation collector, and a spatula holder. Zojirushi also throws in a measuring cup and spatula. --Emily Bedard

This rice maker has been the best that I've used. I've plunked down $20 for the Black and Decker special and have always gotten crispy rice on the bottom of the bowl.
Not the Zojirushi! This cooker is awesome, from the steam vent to the "dew collector" the little bells and whistles make it worth it. So far, we've gone through a 20# bag of rice with this cooker and each batch has come out perfect.
I think the pressure lid is what makes the rice cook so well. This cooker is also easy to clean and break down for cleaning.
One more thing...retractable cord, it rocks!
Zojirushi rules!

I love my Zojirushi rice steamer. There has not been a day that I didn't have great rice since it arrived. The only problems I have had is getting the rice--water mix right (too much water or not enough). Its always eatable!

GREAT PRODUCT!! I always have fresh, warm rice daily. I make a new pot every 3 days. No leaking - JUST LOVE IT! I recommend to any daily rice eaters!!!!

I bought this rice cooker to replace a less expensive Black and Decker model that had died on me after a few years service. I was a little scared to purchase a more expensive model rice cooker. I was afraid I would be spending a lot more money and getting the same results.
I ended up being pleasently surprised. I just followed the cooking instructions, pressed the button, and it produced perfect rice. Better than I ever produced in my less expensive model. It will also cook perfect brown rice. I followed the instructions I had read from another reviewer, which was to soak the rice overnight, then cook with a little more water, and it turns out wonderfully too.
I would highly recommend this rice cooker. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
