Worked Well and Then....Kaput October 29, 2008 Dana Demerchant (Springfield , VT USA) we didn't change how we made the rice or the brand its the machine started working differently. I would not buy this product again.
Panasonic SR-TE18NVO 10-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer with Moisture Cap, White/Violet Orchid May 15, 2008 Eric Lee (columbus, oh) my cooker just broke and i dont know why. i blame it on the girlfriend. she was the last to use it. it no longer turns on. now im sad, and hungry. no rice.
people complain about the inside non-stick coating chipping and coming off in the their food. Its because you are not taking proper care of it. its non-stick, that means you cant use metal spoons or scrub the sh#t out of it when you are cleaning it. push plastic or wood.
i think this goes to all non sticky teflon-y products.
Great rice cooker at a great price! June 11, 2007 Shaun H. Morales (San Francisco, CA) Now, I use this rice cooker for just myself. For those of you that think that this is too large for a single person. I think it works just fine. Unlike some other rice cookers that seem to cook rice better with 3 or more cups. I've found that it seems to cook just great with 2. Unfortunately I haven't tried anything less than this, but I've had other cookers just go horribly wrong with 2 cups.
One thing I learned about rice cookers is, don't wash it regularly like you would a pot or pan. Just lightly rinse and sometimes lightly soap up the pan and rinse thoroughly. After this, it will work just fine.
Of coruse, everything is high quality, I've found that most rice cookers don't need endless scrubbing and washing.
This is probably one of the best rice cookers I've ever used. Perfect rice, each and every time.
Now, I have yet to use the steamer basket, but so far with cooking rice, it's just fine.
I recommend this for those that have been burned by cheapo cookers in the past.
Highly recommended!!

Disappointed May 3, 2007 Arpa (Arcadia, CA, USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I though I got a bargain for $49.99, not so fast. The switch to "cook" can not be depressed and just left the pot sitting inside warm all the time. So my wife can not make the steam rice for dinner and I have to investigate the problem since I am an engineer. So I took the pot out and put someting flat to depress the inside center spring button. The button can not be depressed to allow cook switch to work. If I use finger to depress the button slightly deeper, which means below the bottom surface, then the cook switch works. But how can you use finger to hold the button below surface while the pot is cooking the rice? You can't unless I attach some disk to the bottom of the pot to depress the button. That is where I reach the point to return to Amazon and hope they will also refund my shipping cost to ship back.
great rice cooker February 6, 2007 Loren Morris 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used this rice cooker now for about 2 months. It not only does rice, but can steam vegetables and other things in the tray on top of the rice. I was hesitant because of the simple one button used to run it, but it cooks perfectly every time.
