Canister is fine - just don't put in DISHWASHER November 10, 2008 G. Haring (Florida) This is my first foodsaver or cryo machine. Thanks to other reviewers I made sure we don't put in dishwasher. Works just fine. Perfect size for bread & crackers & muffins. Living in Florida one cannot keep these items very long & this works perfectly.
Great but need to be more durable. October 15, 2008 Valerie Martin (Texas) I do love these containers. I have about 3 dozen of these. The only complaint that I have is that this 2.5qt size does get cracked on the bottom from the massive pressure of the suction. After about 4 or five reseals I start to notice that it loses it seal. When I inspect the canister I notice that the ones in this size have cracks on the bottom and will no longer form an airtight seal. I hope they improve on this flaw.
These sure don't work as well as the other food saver items I have bought August 20, 2008 M. Menzies Used these once (2) Some time after I bought them maybe 3 Months, I filled with nuts sealed them, put them in the cabinet 1 Month later go to get the nuts for a meal the lids on both fell right off.
WHAT! Huh? After examination both canisters fractured at their base the canisters leaked and the nuts rotted.
The bags and the smaller canisters have worked well.
Someday I'll try crazy glue or something to see if they can be fixed.
I'd stay away form them.
Food Saver Canisters March 15, 2007 Essie (Homer Township, IL) I am very happy with this and other canisters that I purchased as well as the bags. For example, I kept strawberries for over a week in a canister and they were perfect.
