Product Description Start your rice in the morning and have it moist, tender, and hot when you come home for dinner. This large capacity cooker will make enough for a crowd and the "keep warm" system switches on immediately after cooking without any help from you. Clean up is no biggie with the non-stick cooking pan and direct heating provides more even heat distribution to ensure delicious results every time.
Amazon.com Review Equipped with a locking lid and a steam cap/vent to preserve moisture, this 600-watt electric appliance produces 2 to 10 cups of cooked rice and automatically keeps the rice fresh, moist, and warm for hours. About 30 minutes is required to cook 10 cups, with an additional 15 minutes of warming recommended for maximum fluffiness. The cooker operates simply. There's a single control to begin the cooking process, and lights signal when cooking ends and warming begins. Inside the white-plastic, cool-touch exterior, a nonstick pan readily releases cooked rice and then cleans up easily. Accompanying the cooker are a rice spatula, a spatula holder that hooks onto the cooker's side, and a plastic measuring cup. The cooker measures 10-1/2 inches wide, 10 inches high, and 13-1/2 inches deep, weighs 7-1/2 pounds, and can be lifted by handles recessed into the sides. --Fred Brack

The Best Rice Cooker I Have Ever Owned November 7, 2008 Melanie Purifoy (Gotha, Florida) Growing up in New Orleans, my mom cooked rice in the morning and then decided what was for dinner. So after ruining pots of rice on the stove, I became a very satisfied "rice cooker" person. This is the third one I've owned. The other two worked fine, but this is the king of rice cookers! A couple of tips: first, spray a cooking spray in your cooker each time before using. You should treat it like a teflon skillet. Mine looks brand new and it is over 3 years old. Never put it in the dishwasher. Always hand wash. And always use a plastic or even better, a wooden spoon when serving your rice. My rice comes out perfect every time. I even add things to my rice for certain dishes. Like if we are having Thai, I might add saffron to the rice and water. Excellent! I don't think you need more than a button to push to get it started. I always start my rice a couple of hours before the rest of the dinner and it is warm and ready to go when the rest of the meal is. If you serve dishes with rice and want it perfect every time, I highly recommend this rice cooker.
go no farther February 14, 2008 Eric L. Thompson (WA USA) Have owned three other rice cookers. Quirky and undependable. This Zojirushi has been in my kitchen for about seven years and operational at least three days a week. Infallible. Mostly it's medium grain but occasionally brown and more often recently, complete meals such as jambalaya, (for which an excellent recipe is on this site). The reason I am here is that my fifteen year old daughter just slammed the lid very hard after serving herself. Apparently the social whirl of high school caused the appliance violence. The latch flew off, broken. If I can find a new latch I'm good. If not, there will be a brand new one of these working hard at my house very soon.
Rice Cooker September 29, 2007 B. C. Johnsen (Virginia Beach, VA USA) My son-in-law was stationed in Japan and I gave this to him for Christmas because this is the ONLY RICE COOKER he will use.
