Quality suspect; warranty not useful September 20, 2008 Book Inhaler (San Antonio, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The warranty is virtually worthless, so consider your investment. Purchased steamer for about $20, used less than 7 times, stopped working--lights, steamer, everything. Warranty requires one to pay for shipping to repair facility PLUS $8--which is just about 2/3 of the original cost! Makes more sense to purchase another pot from another company than go through the expense/hassle for warranty work. Contact with company was most unsatisfactory--they apologize in a form message, nothing more. Very disappointed in the quality & customer/warranty service here, and believe me, the pot was handled gently (a previous pot held on for 14 years in my care).
Layer of burned rice on bottom, but still a good product September 2, 2008 Paularado (Colorado) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I agree with another reviewer that there is always a layer of burned rice on the bottom. I guess it is burned. I don't know what you would call it. Nevertheless, I still love this rice cooker.
I find that it makes great rice and the cleanup is easy. I have never experienced a teflon or plastic smell.
As a new mom, I was finding it hard to eat right. Even making toast can be challenging sometimes! This rice cooker has changed my life. I'm thinking about giving it as a shower gift instead of the cute little outfit that will get worn once! I can start a huge batch of rice in about 3 minutes and I don't have to worry about turning it off when it's done. The warm function takes care of that for me. Then I have rice for days. Life is good.
I was having problems with it sputtering like crazy out of the vent hole. It really made a huge mess. I suspect that this is because of altitude (I live at 9000 ft). Now I add salt and just a little butter and the sputtering is gone.
Great rice cooker August 4, 2008 M. Brous 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
We are very pleased with this rice cooker and steamer. Easy to use, cooks perfect rice everytime! It's a great value. No need to pay for a more expensive model.
The wholesome taste of Teflon! July 7, 2008 Michael Medlock (Portland, OR USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I tried making rice in this thing twice. Both times the rice smelled like Teflon and plastic. Not pleasant, and probably not safe to eat.
How this piece of garbage ever made it to the market is beyond me. The brand name "Aroma" is rather ironic.
Sticking Problem SOLVED February 7, 2008 Robin D. Brennan-moore 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You can easily eliminate this problem with a light spray of Pam to the cooking bowl.
