Does the job & does it well May 17, 2008 Deborah E. Zwitter (Fort Collins, CO United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a step above the basic rice cooker. What I really like about this model is the pail that the rice cooks in is extremely easy to clean. Just soak it in water and everything falls out. Like all rice cookers, it is easy to use. I typically don't bother with the brown rice setting when cooking brown rice because it takes too long. I just cook all rice (brown & white) using the white rice setting, and it cooks fast and has good results. I haven't used the timer feature either, but I suppose that would be handy. It seems durable, too - we've used it 2-3 times a week for the last two years and it still works great.
Don't bother December 29, 2007 G. Wood 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this at a discount box store - perfect example of "you get what you pay for". For a bargain price, this does an okay job on brown rice; however, there is zero indication in the instruction manual about how long brown rice takes to cook. Reviews of more expensive cookers said as much as 2 hours....this one takes about 105 minutes and does the rice pretty well. I'd change it to 2 - 2 1/2 stars if amazon would let me.
