dissappointed January 4, 2009 Lynn (usa) I have been a kitchenaid fan for years and was happy to get it from my kids for Christmas. I put a potato casserole in to bake and yes, I did wait for the oven to preheat, it doesnt tell you when is it preheated. You have to check to make sure top is not glowing. I put the pan in at the bottom of the oven and the broiler light kept going on and off to keep temp at 350 and it wasn't in there for 10 minutes and I checked it and the top of the casserole was burned. Did someone buy the company Kitchenaid? I have had a kichenaid mixer and dishwasher for many years. I got my mixer as a wedding gift 40 years ago and it still works like new. Trying this oven now has turned me off from considering buying a product from them again. I took this oven back to Bed Bath and Beyond where I love to shop (my daughter-in-law works there and bought it there) You can take things back there even without a receipt a long time after purchased and they will give you a store credit. I picked out a bought a Black and Decker,,the digital convection one with the pizza pan. 6 slicer. I have used it for toasting and baking so far. Has a broiling function. I havent tried that...but so far it far outperforms the suppossed Kitchenaid's sparkling reputation. Never thought I would ever give this kind of review for this brand. Take my word for it and don't buy it...it is so bad that bb&b have stopped selling them.
I like it. December 24, 2008 Jonas D. Kruskal (USA) KitchenAid KCO1005OB
pros - big enough for a frozen pizza, 4 rack levels, 4 heat elements, I can control the mode for top only, bottom only or both. Timer is long enough for most meals. Looks nice next to my microwave.
My fears from other reviews were not realized. Some reviews I read here reported shoddy fit and finish but my unit seems well made to me, everything fits and no chipped paint. Some found the tick of the timer annoying but it's not disturbing for me and if I choose to listen for it I get confirmation that the oven is on and doing it's thing.
cons - I wish the broiler was hotter. I wish the timer was longer than 30 min. I wish there was a broiler pan included but my old one fits ok.
I've had this little oven now for a month. I did way too much research on this product. So far I like my choice very much, mostly because it is just the right size for my kitchen and looks right on the counter. I thought the price was fair and it works fine. One thing that I like is the manufacturers warrantee, though I hope I never have to use it.
Great for cooking and saving on the electrical costs December 23, 2008 G. Kurtti (OH United States) I love the oven and the broiler. It is in great condition with no problems with the finish at all. I can clean it very quickly and it looks expensive on the counter. I do have one problem with the rack that comes out too easily so I am careful to use mits and watch that the things do not get away from me as I take them out. I would buy it again but would appreciate a stop notch for the rack.
Has some issues, but still a great Kitchenaid product! December 5, 2008 Joe7253 (Northeast, NJ) This toaster oven is a great product for someone who needs to save space but doesn't want to sacrifice quality. Contrary to other reviewers, I thought this oven was constructed very well and solidly-built. I agree there is a little uneven toasting on top vs bottom -- but nothing dramatically so, and my daughter actually thought that was pretty neat. So, all in all I was happy with my purchase; I don't think you can really go wrong with KitchenAid.
Doesn't Last Long November 14, 2008 Annette Neeley (Ogden, UT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It worked fine for what we needed it for. We had this little oven for a year and then one day it just stopped heating up and now it is just broken. I'm a KitchenAid fan too, but if seeing all the negatives on this product and how they treat customers requests for assistance I'm not sure I'll remain a fan.
A~
