Bought this several months ago and still can't figure out how to toast bread without burning it. Another review was correct about the 2mm difference in the position of the controls resulting in burnt toast or barely even warm. Knobs are hard to turn or adjust. Thought it was off one day but it was not. Poorly designed, what more can one say!

1 out of 5 stars Hot hot and horrible   December 7, 2008

I bought it at BJ;s during Black Friday (2008) for $50 ($20 off) and I hate it. It get's really hot on the top, sides, front, and due the hight, is really close to the cabinets. If using broiler for a while be careful with cabinets if they are formica doors!!! I will return it next weekend. As the previous reviewer stated, the manual buttons mark a difference IF even 2 mms between dark/medium/light! Just guess how your toast will come out (mostly burned!). I tried also to use the convection function to make breaded shrimps and oninon rings. It took over 7 min to preheat. Then aprox. 20 to turn out food that was not remotely crispy. (I did turn around the shrimps and rings to try to get them crisp). I will get an oven with digital buttons like I had before; easier to use, graduate exact temp. no guessing with timer, oh yes, and the timer, you have to pass 10 min or so the dial and then turn to the time you really want; and if you pass the off and turn slightly it keeps on the "stay On" function, so no hurrying up and get your stuff and think you turned it off; you better make really sure you did before running out the house with your breakfest in one hand!!!!!

Well I have had it for about 6 months and really just toast bread in it. The front glass door gets very hot even when toasting on medium so be careful. Cooking always makes things get hot... it is the nature of cooking. So you have to use caution and make sure you don't leave it on the "stay on" mode. I like it .. it works for me though I am sure there are better ones on the market. Do your research.

1 out of 5 stars dangerous product   September 14, 2008

The difference between "dark" and "light" is 2mm. It is impossible to get it right. There is a dangerous "stay on" function right next to the off function, so if you are not careful and turn past the "off" function, you can actually burn down your house. The door does not close unless you separately push the red hot tray inside. Risk of injury-very high.
Can't believe that they put this on the market!
