 Makes good waffles, doesn't last November 3, 2008

We enjoyed this product while it lasted. It made great waffles and didn't take up a ton of space. Unfortunately, less than a year after we got it the waffler will no longer heat. I called Villaware customer service and they replaced it with a different model since they did not have this one in stock. The replacement also makes excellent waffles; I just hope the new one lasts. I suggest saving yourself the hassle and buying a different product the first time.

I used this for the second time and it will no longer rotate. As I went to turn it plastic pieces shattered all over the countertop. A real rip-off. Unfortunately the warranty has run out so I'm basically throwing my money in the garbage can.

I had similar problems as several other reviewers. I tried a variety of waffle batter recipes but none cooked completely even at the highest heat setting and four times the recommended cooking time. I also had a problem with the latch mechanism and handle; both broke on day two. The latch would not allow for the waffle iron to close completely, which made it impossible to flip. I had to get creative just to pack it back up.
I just printed the shipping label, etc., to return to Amazon for a refund.

Worked great first time. Just throw away your first waffle. The recipe is pretty nick picky, and you can fudge a little. I would get the buttermilk. Pretty easy to use, just flip it over when the light turns on. Golden brown and fluffy!

We used this product twice with FABULOUS results!!! My family are big belgian waffle fans. We started telling everyone about how much we love this product. Then went to make waffles the other day and it no longer flips and won't close all the way. We had warrantied the product and they are sending us a replacement. The person at Villaware was very helpful but couldn't find this model in their system and it was only purchsed the end of March from Amazon. We are now gettting the round model on their website. I hope the new one doesn't break because they really do make very nice waffles.
