2 out of 5 stars Great Waffle maker, But...   August 4, 2008

The Sensio 13124 Bella Cucina Belgian Waffle Maker is a great product for making perfect waffles at home, but its quality of craftsmanship has much to be desired. After having the unit and making perfect waffles for 6 months, the handle broke. Now the unit is useless. I called the manufacturer to order a replacement handle and they have been out of stock for 4 months. Every time I called, they said to call back the middle of the next month. If you want a waffle maker that you can use for more than a year...this isn't it.

While this product makes EXCELLENT waffles, the handle breaks and there is no way to repair it. I've been through two. It's a shame, since the rest of the design is great.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderfully thick, light waffles, evenly browned   January 30, 2008

After going through a year with an expensive ($100) Belgian waffle iron (Villaware) that produced heavy, tasteless, white-on-top-brown-on-the-bottom waffles, this Bella waffler is a fantastic difference!

The Bella Rotating Belgian Waffle Maker is everything I was looking for. With the same batter I used in the previous over-priced waffler, I got a completely different waffle: evenly browned, amazingly deep and light, and even better tasting! This is the way Belgian waffles should be. There is a learning curve on how much batter to put into the iron but once you figure it out, the waffles are a work of art.

The price was right, too. The tray is a nice addition, catching any drips that occur. All in all, this is a great waffle maker.

2 out of 5 stars Great waffles right up until it broke because of poor design   January 2, 2008

We bought this waffle iron at a local store less than a year ago. We probably used it 20 times. It heated well and made great waffles, but the handle came off. Nothing actually broke, but there is no effective way to retighten the handle due to a very poor design. I believe the stress of turning the handle to flip the waffle as recommended is responsible for loosening it a little bit at a time. Since the waffle maker is designed to be turned this way, I see no way it could be avoided. I would recommend looking for something sturdier.
