Amazon.com Review Squeeze the baster's black rubber bulb to suck up pan juices or other basting liquids, squeeze the bulb again and out spurt the juices or liquids to keep a turkey or tenderloin moist while it's roasting. To get flavoring liquids deep into a roast, the injector needle works wonders. Tip: run hot water through the baster to warm it before basting or injecting so liquids will not cool down. With its satin-finish stainless-steel tube, this baster is a beauty and should last a lifetime. --Fred Brack

Bulb splits April 15, 2007 Amazon shopper (Saratoga, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It was a great baster for the few times we used it over 2 years, but the rubber bulb suddenly developed a large split which rendered it useless.
Very Disappointing - definitely not worth the money November 22, 2003 2 cooks (Tampa, FL United States) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
We have had this baster for less than a year and the bulb has already cracked and split, rendering the thing virtually useless. My old cheap plastic baster -- which I got at the dollar store -- lasted longer than this product.
Stainless Steel Baster December 16, 2002 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
After putting up with plastic and glass basters that crack and break, I finally decided to move up to stainless steel. To my pleasant surprise, this one carries the Hoffritz name and quality, can be used as an injector and even has its own cleaning brush. The Rolls Royce of basters!!!!
Bulb is Weak Link December 4, 2002 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Bought this item last Christmas for my wife. Worked fine until this Thanksgiving when rubber bulb split apart when basting turkey. She had complained when I bought this fancy one to replace her old ugly plastic one last year but I insisted this was better. Boy am I in trouble now. Old plastic one had lasted for 10 years and cost 1/10 as much. Did not look like much but it did the job.
Baster + Rotisserie = Yummy dinner! June 23, 2001 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
My husband and I were looking for an injector to replace the cheap plastic one that came with our rotisserie. When we saw this, we decided to give it a try. This thing performs wonderfully as a flavor injector, and we have used everything from barbecue sauce to tequila into the poultry and fish we cook in our rotisserie. The two work together making the healthiest, juiciest meats you can find. If you have a rotisserie, definitely get this item. Also, having cooked many a bird in a conventional oven, I recommend this as a simple baster as well. Don't buy a plastic baster that will melt when you put it too close to the heat source. Metal is better!
