Product Description "MRS. ANFDERSON'S" CERAMIC PIE WEIGHTSPrevent pie shells from blistering and shrinking while they bakeConducts heat evenlyEasy to clean after bakingPackaging becomes a storage container for the weights
Amazon.com Review This packet of reusable pie weights contains plenty of pea-size ceramic beads to cover the bottom of an unfilled piecrust, preventing the shrinking that can occur while baking. To use, press the crust into the pan, prick with a fork, line with aluminum foil or wax paper, and fill with pie weights. Bake according to crust recipe, cool, and then remove the liner and pour the weights into a colander to continue cooling. Wash the weights, and then store them in their original plastic container or in a jar. --Jennifer Harris

Gets the job done! December 26, 2008 M. Jacobs (Collge Station, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used these pie weights two times now and have found them to be quite effective. I was a bit apprehensive b/c I had read a review saying that they did not cover a 9 inch pie pan. I have used these weights on two different 9 inch pie pans and have found them to provide good coverage. One pie pan was a glass pyrex 9 inch and the other was a hand made ceramic type. The ceramic pan, although stated to be 9 inch seemed to have a wider footprint, with steeper sides, than the pyrex. I put the rolled out pie dough in my pie pan, covered it with aluminum foil, and then put the pie weights in the foil (as recommended by my Martha Stewart recipe). In both instances, my crust came out evenly baked and flat. A good buy for the money and if you qualify for the free super shipping, even better!
Very effective November 26, 2008 Debra Schiff (Somerset, NJ USA) I use the pie weights when I "blind" bake pie shells before filling them. They do a fine job of keeping the pie dough where it should be while it bakes.
They work! September 13, 2008 Katerina Wirth (Luxembourg) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It took me a long time to finally decide to invest in baking weights - and I'm glad I did! It really is so much easier to bake pie crusts!
disappointing November 24, 2007 M. Barhydt (new york city area) 8 out of 12 found this review helpful
I found this product to be overpriced. 108 pie weights are not as many as you would think -- they barely covered a 9" pie dish. Perhaps it was my mistake but I was very disappointed.
