Amazon.com Review Wine should breathe a little, but not overnight. Putting an end to the oxidation process, which turns a favorite Merlot into vinegar, is easy with the Vacu Vin Concerto Wine Saver. These long-lasting extra stoppers are designed to work with the vacuum-style pump (sold separately) to keep a wine fresh. Made of high-quality rubber, they won't affect the taste of the wine. And the method is simple--just place a stopper in the opening of a bottle, place the pump over the stopper, and pump air out until the pump clicks to indicate that the correct vacuum level has been attained. This process is suitable for preserving all but sparkling wines, and will save Chiantis, Syrahs, and others for up to two weeks. --Madeleine Miller

they really work February 25, 2006 Patrick H. Wood (Lake Hopatcong, NJ USA) This is a great product for the price; it allows me to keep open wines for about 2 weeks at cellar temps. Ports keep for months.
One of my favorite wine gadgets!! September 27, 2004 Kelli Hanson (San Diego, CA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have been using my Concerto for several months now, and I am a raving fan! I drink wine frequently, but seldom finish a bottle in one evening. The Concerto is so easy to use to "vacuum-pack" your leftover wine for storage in the fridge. The unit makes a little chirping noise when the vacuum is reached, so it's foolproof to use. Wine stays fresher longer, and I am a happy enophile! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Simple and it works April 26, 2004 GPFord (Hemphill, Texas United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Those little stoppers work like a charm. They are simple to use and do a great job of preserving wine. Okay, so maybe they don't preserve wine for quite as long as advertised, but they do a great job for 5-7 days. Hey, if you don't down a single bottle of wine in a week, you should probably switch to a different beverage. I give this little product an A+.
Much better...but not perfect. February 5, 2004 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Yes, they do work, but not for as long as claimed. I think after 3 to 5 days (depending on the wine) it starts to taste pretty bad...but that's longer than a re-corked bottle lasts!
If you like to have lots of types of wine available... January 5, 2003 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
...at the same time, treat yourself to extra stoppers! That way you won't feel compelled to limit yourself to only two choices (the starter set only comes with two stoppers).
