3 out of 5 stars Bend Over Dover!   September 9, 2008

This hyperdermic needle injector is made of dual cast aluminum and is intended for use with large horses and farm animals. Solely to inject "hormones" to increase fertility in young animals, to provide them with incentives to mating, this injector is a godsend to Norwegians living far away from vegetarians. Capacity is 6 oz and one can even use this on turkeys or wild pigs before toasting on an open fire. Be sure to read the "how to inject" booklet before commencing with any live animal projects or you may be injured by a hoof to the eye.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good   May 14, 2007

I have had the unit for about 3 weeks now. It is built pretty solid and works as advertised. I've used it to inject a few chickens and some roasts. Only thing is, and this really has nothing to do with this particular item itself, but it takes some time and work to actually inject enough marinade and to do it properly. I'm not sure if it is worth the time, but it may just be I don't know how to really do it.

I have had a bad experience with this type of device years previous, but this one is exactly as offered. Simply suck up your mix of marinade into the injector and then inject it into the meat in several places (and watch the meat swell up). Very easy to clean and even easier to use.

2 out of 5 stars I Wouldn't Call this "Gourmet"!   August 9, 2006

I don't know how the Eastman Company can claim that this injector is "gourmet"! They are just plain wrong. There is nothing "gourmet" about it. I bought one and maybe it could be called semi-epicurean but definitely NOT "gourmet". If you want something truly "gourmet" then I suggest getting the Basting Gun with Injector by Gourmac (Division of Hutzler Mfg. Co., Inc.. ). Now that's "gourmet"!

PS. Just in case you think I'm wrong, I asked my friend who is a chef at Macaroni Grill about this product and he said, "malfouka, you're absolutely right. This is not 'gourmet'!"
