Easy on hand December 1, 2008

Just used this once again right before reviewing. Easy on the hand for peeling potatoes. It didn't work as well on apples and seems better for larger potatoes just because it is a fairly large tool for a woman's hand.

I bought this peeler based on the Cook's Ill. recommendation. It works very well, but it took me a while to get used to its weight. I do like the big handle, which fits my hands well. While I usually like utensils with good heft and a solid feel, it feels odd in a peeler.

My wife is very selective when it comes to kitchen tools. She declared this one "great." In our house for a kitchen tool to be declared great it must work perfectly, be easy to wash, and most important come with directions that must never, under any circumstances, be read for any reason. Therefore this tool is "great."
I like the idea of the replaceable blades but wonder if we'd just order a new one peeler should the blade become dull.

this is without a doubt the best peeler i've ever used. my husband likes it so much, he had me order another one as a gift for a friend(who had a crappy peeler). it is almost effortless to use, very sharp, and the little rounded tip on the end is very efficient and easy to use for removing bad spots. it comes w/a protective cover on the blade, which we replace after using. i bought the extra blade, but have no idea when the original will have to be replaced. i highly recommend this peeler, especially if you have bought cheap "grocery store" peelers in the past; you'll notice a world of difference with this one!
