5 out of 5 stars Great for cooking bacon in the oven   October 11, 2008
W. Barrett (tampa, fl United States)
I wanted to try Alton Brown's method of cooking bacon in the oven but my regular racks let the strips fall through into the grease. The grid on these is perfect. It does take some work to clean the rack and pan afterwards. I turn the rack upside down in the pan, add hot water and soap, and let both the pan and the rack soak. Then it's much easier to scrub them both clean. The bacon is delicious this way and you never get popped by it. I was a little worried when it said not to cook on the racks but it has worked out just fine so far.

4 out of 5 stars Way "cool" rack   September 30, 2008

Nice light weight racks. I would emphasize the construction is intended for cookies to the odd loaf of bread. They seem a little flexy for grandma's double dutch mountain o' apples pie.

5 out of 5 stars Bakers Secret Cooling Racks - LOVE THEM!!!!   June 23, 2008

We just love our Bakers Secret Cooling Racks. We actually use them for cooking bacon in the oven on a cookie sheet. The grease drips off the bacon and there is far less mess to deal with later. They are SUPER easy to clean and store. I'm sure they'll also work great as cookie cooling racks once I start baking more in the fall.

5 out of 5 stars Cookies don't fall through!   April 28, 2008

I much prefer mesh cooling racks to the straight wire ones for cooling cookies. Inevitably at least one or two cookies would slip through the cracks and make a mess, something that doesn't happen with mesh. The racks are no harder to clean or to store than the standard "striped" kind. And you can't beat the price at $3 each. The "feet" are fairly deep keeping the rack higher off the table allowing better circulation, which is especially important when cooling cakes.

4 out of 5 stars Seems ok   April 9, 2008

I bought these mostly to drain fried foods in a 10x16 baking pan. They don't quite fit. They kind of sit above the pan. I probably would have seen that coming if I had read the reviews a little closer.
They were inexpensive and seem to be well made, but for my purposes were a little off. I really can't fault them.
