5 out of 5 stars love this scale   August 1, 2008

LOVE it, love it , love it. This small scale is great. Does the job and looks great, lightweight. I am doing Weight Watchers and it does the job with grams, oz, and lbs. Worth the money.

I bought the silver one to go with my stainless appliances. It is cute and compact. Love the fact that it uses Double A batteries, the most common one out there. And it comes with Energizers as your first set.

I found it to be very accurate and got the same results repeatedly. The tare function worked perfectly for me and it is very easy to use. Set bowl on scale, after it weighs, press tare, add banana, press tare, add apple, press tare, and so on. And you have a perfect serving of fruit salad!

It is accurate at very low weights and weighs up to 11 lbs, although I have yet to try anything that heavy. Seems durable and reliable. I would highly recommend it to everyone looking for an accurate, compact scale that's cute as well.

5 out of 5 stars Marvelous scale   July 26, 2008

I bought this scale as a combination kitchen/postage scale. I use it more for postage since I mail a lot of different stuff regularly. The scale is exceptionally accurate, with my weights without exception agreeing with the postal service scales. It's very attractive and functional, exceptionally easy to use.

I've noted some reviewers stating the difficulty of seeing the readout if one places anything larger than a small plate on the scale. My simple solution is to first put an "elevator" (I use a 32 oz. plastic yogurt container) on the scale that WON'T block the readout, then use the tare function to zero out the weight of this "elevator". THEN place the item you want to weigh on top of the "elevator". You get an accurate weight since the "elevator" weight is tared-out PLUS you can see the readout clearly since the elevator gets the object up high enough to not block the readout. I mailed an item the other day that was 36" by 24" and by using this "elevator" trick I got the exact weight and could see the readout quite clearly.

To summarize - extremely accurate, practical, attractive, and affordable. My only wish was it had a higher capacity (maxes out at 11lbs.) For most appplications, though I give it five stars all the way.

4 out of 5 stars Good Scale.   July 26, 2008

As mentioned in other reviews the readout is hard to see if you use a full size dinner plate. This can be gotten around by zeroing out the scale before you put the food on the plate, then zeroing it out with the food on the plate. Remove the plate and note the negative amounts on the readout. Subtract one from the other and "Voila!" you have the weight of the food even though you cannot see the readout when the plate is in the way. Still a good scale.

the title says it all. if you need to weigh some food for portion control, this little scale works. It is small enough to be easily tucked away in my kitchen. and the numbers are very big and easy to read. However, it can be hard to read the numbers when you have a plate hanging over the edge.
