My wife has used the ones from Target (the Michael Graves design). We like them fine; there's nothing wrong with them functionally, but we both prefer these OXO containers. We now have one of each size and will not be looking elsewhere. The OXO is perfect.
The design is just excellent. Pop the button out and the lid lifts off easily. The lid seal is easy to remove and clean, although that will not be happening often in my house, because I'm using them to store dry goods only (cereal, chips, nuts, etceteras).
Replace the lid, pop the button in, and the lid seals perfectly and will NOT come off accidentally.
They are stackable and their square shape uses our space very efficiently. Their shape is also better for dumping out cereal into your bowl. As a bonus, they even look nice; you would be happy to have these in plain sight.
In short, like all OXO Good Grips products, this one is great. It's what you want.

I love it. Sturdy, easy to open and close, keeps food fresh, looks nice on the counter. Thinking about getting some other sizes.

I just bought a few of the 4 quart containers to hold my 5# bags of different types of flour & my granulated sugar. I really like how the lid comes apart to get them clean/dry out and the lids fit nice & snug as well. They seem to be the perfect size for the 5# bags of flour, but I think I could have done a 3.5 quart for the sugar.
The ONLY thing I don't like & the reason for only 4 stars versus 5 stars is that they aren't the easiest to grab hold of. I wish there was some sort of handle. The container isn't very heavy, but the contents are which have made me almost drop them on more than one occasion when retrieving them from the cabinet.
Other than that these are great & it looks like they are going to be great to keep my baking goods nice & fresh!

Even though its a little pricey i bought one to fill it up with rice. Serves my purposes perfectly. OXO sells great quality goods.

I purchased a set of the oxo pop canisters. They seal tightly. The rectangular design works perfect in my cupboard. The 5.5 qt works for a standard bag of flour.
